Weight
1/16 ounce. A versatile panfish weight with enough mass for casting and depth control while remaining light enough for slower, more natural presentations.
Hook options
Available with #4, #6, or #8 hooks so you can match the hook to everything from compact panfish plastics to slightly larger crappie and finesse baits.
Profile
Compact pill-shaped jig head with a clean, streamlined profile that pairs easily with minnows, grubs, paddle tails, tubes, and other small soft plastics.
Best for
Crappie, bluegill, perch, trout, and other light-tackle species around docks, brush, weed edges, open water, and suspended fish.
One head, three hook choices: The 1/16 oz Pillhead gives you a versatile jig weight while letting you choose the hook size that fits the bait and fish you're after. Go with a smaller hook for compact plastics and panfish, move up when you want more hook with a larger crappie bait, and let the jig weight stay the same.

Top 3 ways we fish it

Versatile 1/16 oz panfish jig

Cast and swim

Crappie, perch, trout, and roaming panfish
  • Pair the Pillhead with a small minnow, grub, paddle tail, or other compact soft plastic.
  • Cast beyond the fish, count the jig down to the depth you want, and begin with a slow steady retrieve.
  • Add occasional pauses, twitches, or small lifts when fish are following but not committing.

Under a float

Docks, brush, shallow cover, and suspended crappie
  • Set your float so the Pillhead rides just above the fish or the cover you are trying to work.
  • Give the float a small twitch, then let the jig swing and settle naturally underneath it.
  • When fish move deeper or shallower, adjust the leader before changing the bait.

Vertical jigging

Brush piles, docks, deep fish, and ice
  • Drop the jig to the depth where fish are holding and keep the presentation above them whenever possible.
  • Use short lifts and small shakes instead of constantly making large jigging movements.
  • Pause frequently and let the plastic settle because a lot of bites come when the jig is barely moving.
